Samsung chief unlikely to rejoin board
Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong is not expected to rejoin the company’s board in the near future.
This decision is influenced by ongoing legal uncertainties related to a controversial 2015 merger, despite a recent acquittal.
The Samsung board will meet on Feb.18 to finalize the agenda for its annual general meeting in March, where new board members will be nominated.
Currently, the board has six independent directors and three executives, with the terms of Roh Tae-moon from the Mobile Division and Lee Jung-bae from the Memory Division expiring on March 15.
