Roblox adds Arabic support as MENA user base grows
Roblox has introduced Arabic language support across its platform, including desktop, mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox.
The announcement was made by CEO David Baszucki during a discussion at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Arabic is now the 16th language available on Roblox, reflecting the platform’s growth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
From Q3 2021 to Q3 2024, daily active users in five MENA countries, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, increased by 80%, with engagement hours rising by 76%.
The update includes text chat filtering, moderation, and automatic translation tools, enabling localized experiences without manual translation.
Parental controls are now available in Arabic, allowing parents to oversee activity, screen time, and spending.
A study by Roblox and Access Partnership found the platform’s economic contributions to the MENA region’s GDP grew by 55% year-over-year in 2024.
