OpenAI research VP stresses AI responsibility
Lilian Weng Li, research VP of AI safety at OpenAI, described artificial intelligence as a “double-edged sword,” noting both benefits and challenges for humanity, at an event hosted by the Chinese platform Bilibili.
Weng stressed the need for responsible AI development and urged collaboration.
OpenAI is not available in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau.
The company restricted access to its application programming interface in July, treating China like US-sanctioned countries such as Iran and North Korea.
