Nio launches Firefly EV with battery-swap tech
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio has launched a new model under its Firefly brand, aimed at competing with vehicles like BMW’s Mini and Mercedes-Benz’s Smart.
Priced at 148,000 yuan (US$20,284), the compact EV will be available for delivery starting in April 2025.
It features Nio’s battery swapping technology, allowing a depleted battery to be replaced in under three minutes, and includes self-parking capabilities.
Specific details about the driving range and interior features have not been disclosed.
