Nazara subsidiary buys Ukrainian esports platform for $5.5m
Nodwin Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, has acquired Ukrainian esports broadcasting platform StarLadder for an initial sum of US$5.5 million.
The deal includes a secondary sale and a stock swap, according to a regulatory filing.
Of the US$5.5 million, US$2 million will be paid in cash, while the remaining US$3.5 million will be settled through an equity share swap.
After the acquisition, StarLadder will function as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nodwin Gaming, and its founder, Roman Romantsov, will remain in charge and become a shareholder in Nodwin gaming
StarLadder was founded in 2018 and is recognized for hosting international tournaments for games like Dota 2, PUBG, and Hearthstone.
This acquisition follows Nazara Technologies’ investment of 64 crore rupees (US$7.38 million) into Nodwin Gaming to enhance its capabilities.
As of November 2024, Nodwin’s valuation was reported at US$410 million.
