Officials from the Trump administration have reportedly informed United States government employees that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is using AI to monitor communications within at least one federal agency.

Sources claim the AI surveillance aims to identify language deemed hostile to former President Donald Trump or Musk.

At the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), employees were told that DOGE is deploying AI tools to oversee communications on platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

DOGE staff are also reportedly using the Signal app for internal communication, raising concerns about compliance with federal record-keeping laws.
