Microsoft opens first data center academy in Middle East
Microsoft Arabia and the National IT Academy (NITA) have launched the first Microsoft Datacenter Academy (DCA) in the Middle East during the LEAP 2025 tech conference.
The company aims to train the Saudi workforce in technical skills for the growing AI and datacenter industries.
The academy plans to provide a two-year training program focused on datacenter infrastructure management, IT support, troubleshooting, and advanced technologies such as AI, data analytics, automation, and cybersecurity.
Graduates will receive certifications or diplomas, which are intended to improve their job prospects in high-demand technical fields.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at developing local talent, enhancing digital infrastructure, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a global datacenter hub.
It follows Microsoft’s announcement regarding its datacenter region in the Kingdom, with three Azure Availability Zones expected to be operational by 2026.
The academy highlights Microsoft’s commitment to providing accessible technical training worldwide and supporting the digital transformation of industries in Saudi Arabia.
