Microsoft forms new engineering group to boost AI tools
Microsoft has announced the establishment of CoreAI – Platform and Tools, a new engineering group focused on developing AI platforms and tools.
The team will be led by Jay Parikh, previously an engineering chief at Meta and now an executive vice president at Microsoft.
This is the first major organizational change at Microsoft since Parikh joined the company in October 2024.
CoreAI combines Microsoft’s Developer Division (Dev Div), AI platform teams, and members of the Office of the CTO.
The team’s mission will focus on building a comprehensive “Copilot & AI stack” for both internal and external users to facilitate the creation and operation of AI applications.
