Meta’s Asia-Pacific head Dan Neary steps down after 12 years
Dan Neary, Meta’s top executive for the Asia Pacific region, is set to leave the company after 12 years.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed that Neary’s departure is for personal reasons, and he will remain for several months to ensure a smooth transition.
Neary joined Meta, then known as Facebook, in 2013. He was instrumental in expanding the company’s presence in key markets, including Australia, Greater China, and Southeast Asia.
During his time at the company, user bases and ad revenue in the Asia-Pacific region grew significantly.
Before joining Meta, Neary held leadership roles at Skype and eBay. His departure comes as Meta increases its focus on AI, an area where the company is making substantial investments under CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The company has not yet named a successor for Neary’s position.
