Meta is testing an AI-powered comment suggestion feature on Instagram. Discovered by social media tester Jonah Manzano, the feature offers three AI-generated comment options based on a photo’s content.

Users can access it by tapping a pencil icon next to the text bar and refreshing suggestions if needed.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed the test, stating that Meta AI is being trialed across comments, feeds, groups, and search.

For example, if a photo features someone smiling with a thumbs-up in their living room, suggested comments might include “Cute living room setup” or “Love the cozy atmosphere.”

Meta has not shared when the feature will be widely available.

The company previously tested AI-generated comment summaries on Facebook, but it remains uncertain if or when this new tool will launch on Instagram.
