Meta Platforms plans to roll out advertising on its social media app, Threads, starting January next year.

According to a report by The Information, a select group of advertisers will create and publish ads on the app.

The process of integrating ads into Threads is reportedly being led by Instagram’s advertising division.

Despite this move, Meta CFO Susan Li stated that Threads is not expected to significantly contribute to the company’s revenue by 2025.
