Meta approves higher executive bonuses, up to 200% salary
Meta has approved a revised bonus plan that raises incentives for named executive officers
They can now earn up to 200% of their base salaries in annual bonuses, up from the previous 75% cap.
In a corporate filing on Feb. 21, the company said it had approved “an increase in the target bonus percentage” for its executive bonus plan.
The change, approved by the board on Feb. 13, does not apply to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
According to the filing, the update follows a review of compensation levels and comparisons with peer companies.
Previously, Meta’s executive compensation was at or below the 15th percentile but now aligns closer to the 50th percentile.
This decision comes after Meta announced layoffs affecting 5% of its workforce, targeting low performers.
The company has also reduced stock option distributions by about 10% for many employees, influenced by location and job role.
