Huawei’s HarmonyOS surpasses iOS in China
Huawei’s HarmonyOS surpassed Apple’s iOS in market share across mainland China’s smartphone market for four consecutive quarters in 2024.
By the end of December 2024, HarmonyOS held a 19% share, up from 16% in the same period in 2023, according to data from Counterpoint Research released on Mar. 12.
Despite HarmonyOS’s growth, Android remains dominant in China, maintaining a 64% market share in the fourth quarter of 2024, unchanged from the prior year.
In comparison, iOS slipped to a 17% share, down from 20% in the same quarter of 2023.
