Chinese tech firms Moore Threads and Huawei are backing DeepSeek’s open-source AI models to boost China’s AI capabilities.

Moore Threads, founded by ex-Nvidia China executive Zhang Jianzhong, will use its domestic graphics processing units (GPUs) to support DeepSeek’s V3 and R1 models.

The company plans to deploy its KUAE GPU computing cluster for distributed deployment, strengthening China’s AI infrastructure.

Huawei is also integrating DeepSeek’s models into its Ascend cloud service through a partnership with SiliconFlow, an AI infrastructure firm.

These efforts highlight China’s push to advance its AI ecosystem and compete globally.
