Grab seeks $2b loan for potential GoTo acquisition, sources say
Grab Holdings Ltd. is in talks to secure a loan of up to US$2 billion for a potential acquisition of Indonesian tech company GoTo Group Inc., according to sources.
The proposed bridge loan would have a term of about 12 months.
Talks with banks are still in early stages, and details may change.
GoTo declined to comment, while Grab has yet to respond.
This comes as Grab conducts due diligence and discusses a deal structure that could value GoTo at over US$7 billion. If finalized, the loan could support a major tech acquisition in Southeast Asia.
Grab is also considering other financing options, such as bonds or equity, but the deal depends on successfully acquiring GoTo.
