Grab CEO warns AI crucial for growth, non-users risk lagging
Grab CEO Anthony Tan stressed the importance of AI adoption at Converge Live in Singapore, warning that those who ignore AI risk falling behind.
He highlighted Grab’s AI solutions, including the “driver co-pilot,” which optimizes job matches and reduces passenger wait times.
Grab reported US$2.8 billion in 2024 revenue, a 19% increase, and recently ran a nine-week “generative AI sprint” to develop AI-driven tools for merchants.
“People thought I was crazy, maybe I am, but it really moved the needle,” he said.
Tan aims to expand AI adoption across Grab’s 7,000-employee workforce and personally uses AI for coding and productivity.
He emphasized AI’s role in supporting entrepreneurs and reaffirmed Grab’s commitment to integrating AI across its services.
