Google will shift users of its G Suite legacy free edition accounts to pooled storage starting on May 1.

This change will replace the individual 15GB storage allocation previously available to each user with shared storage across all users within an organization.

The legacy free edition, which was discontinued in 2012, allowed users to access Google Workspace services without cost.

Google said that pooled storage is intended to provide a simpler and more flexible way to manage storage needs.

Existing accounts will not see a reduction in their overall storage capacity.
