Google, H&M, others invest $80m in carbon credits
The Frontier coalition, including Google, H&M, and Stripe announced an US$80 million acquisition of carbon credits to support carbon removal technologies.
The credits will be purchased from two companies that use innovative methods to capture emissions from paper mills and wastewater treatment plants.
The coalition confirmed that buyers have committed US$48 million to CO280, a project developer, for 224,500 metric tons of carbon credits at a price of US$214 per ton.
These credits will cover emissions captured from 2028 to 2030.
