Global semiconductor firms, ITE partner to train SG students
On Jan. 21, German chipmaker Siltronic and Taiwan’s Vanguard International announced a partnership with Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to prepare students for careers in the semiconductor industry.
The collaboration will sponsor ITE’s Work-Study Diploma (WSDip) program in microelectronics and related courses.
It includes internships and job placements for graduates, while allowing partner companies to contribute to curriculum development.
ITE estimates that the initiative will benefit over 500 students by providing exposure to various roles in the semiconductor sector.
Previously, ITE has partnered with multiple technology firms, such as GlobalFoundries, Micron, STMicroelectronics, Intel, Nvidia, and Microsoft, to offer similar programs focused on training young talent in technical fields.
