Flipkart appoints Dunzo co-founder to lead quick ecommerce

Flipkart, a subsidiary of Walmart, has appointed Kabeer Biswas, co-founder of Dunzo, to lead its quick-commerce service, Flipkart Minutes.

This follows previous discussions about acquiring Dunzo, which were hindered by the delivery platform’s ownership structure and Reliance Retail’s significant investment.

Recently, Reliance has distanced itself from Dunzo.

Quick-commerce which aims to deliver goods within 10-15 minutes, is growing in India but faces global challenges.

Competitors include Zomato’s Blinkit, Swiggy’s Instamart, and Zepto, with Amazon also testing similar service.

Biswas’s appointment signals Flipkart’s commitment to strengthening its quick-commerce strategy to compete with Amazon in urban markets.
