Dubai-based auto firm, BYD partner to launch EV trucks, buses
Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment has partnered with Chinese EV manufacturer BYD to introduce electric trucks and buses in the United Arab Emirates.
The launch event in Dubai showcased four electric commercial vehicles designed for logistics, freight, and public transportation.
The lineup includes the ETM6 Electric Truck, EV Light Truck T5, EV Medium Truck ETH8, and B12 Electric Bus.
These vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions and feature battery capacities ranging from 126 kWh to 425 kWh. They aim to provide eco-friendly solutions for urban logistics and heavy-duty transport.
The B12 Electric Bus has a range of 550 kilometers on a single charge.
Al-Futtaim said that the launch supports the UAE’s sustainability goals and the nation’s vision for green mobility.
The introduction of these vehicles is intended to contribute to reducing carbon emissions in the region’s commercial transport sector.
