Douyin expands services with in-app ride-hailing feature
Byte-dance owned video platform, Douyin, introduced a ride-hailing service within its app on Jan. 24.
Users can find this feature in the “My Wallet” section alongside features like mobile top-ups and utility payments.
After selecting the ride-hailing service, users are directed to AMap Ride-Hailing, which consolidates various providers, including Didi, T3, and Caocao.
Options include standard rides, shared rides, airport transfers, and on-demand services, with plans to add more providers in the future.
This marks a shift from Douyin’s previous collaboration with ride-hailing companies for advertisements, as users can now book rides directly within the apps.
The move is aligns with Douyin’s strategy to expand its offerings in dining, entertainment, and other sectors.
