Dogecoin soars 22% amid Trump election speculation

Memecoins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu saw an increase in value amid speculation of former President Donald Trump’s potential re-election.

Coin Metrics reported that Dogecoin surged by 22%, while Shiba Inu rose by 8%, even as the wider cryptocurrency market experienced growth.

These gains coincided with NBC News projections showing a significant electoral lead for Trump.

During the same period, Bitcoin achieved a record price of US$75,000.
