China investigates Nvidia for anti-monopoly law breaches
China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced Monday an investigation into global chipmaker Nvidia, focusing on alleged breaches of the country’s anti-monopoly laws.
SAMR is also examining Nvidia for potentially violating terms from its 2020 acquisition of Mellanox Technologies.
This move comes after recent United States measures targeting China’s semiconductor industry.
These measures include export restrictions affecting 140 companies, such as chip equipment producers.
