ByteDance denies AI phone partnership with China’s Nubia
ByteDance, the Beijing-based owner of TikTok, has dismissed rumors of a partnership with Chinese handset maker Nubia to develop AI-powered smartphones.
Reports on social media suggested that both firms were in discussions to launch an AI phone business this year.
Allegedly, the project would involve prototype production and testing in the upcoming quarter, with a product launch scheduled for late September.
Nubia, founded in 2012, manufactures phones in regions including China, North America, and parts of Europe and Asia.
