China’s BYD has unveiled a new EV platform that incorporates a 1,000-volt architecture, enabling faster charging.

The company claims that vehicles built on this platform can cover 400 kilometers with just a five-minute charge.

The company unveiled the platform at its Shenzhen headquarters, alongside plans to build 4,000 ultra-fast charging stations across China.

During the livestreamed event, BYD founder Wang Chuanfu shared that the technology supports a peak charging speed of 1,000 kilowatts.
