AWS invests $8.3b in western India for cloud infrastructure
Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to invest US$8.3 billion in cloud infrastructure in Maharashtra, India.
This investment is part of AWS’s strategy to enhance cloud capabilities in the country.
AWS CEO Matt Garman indicated that this investment could add over US$15 billion to India’s GDP.
Additionally, AWS has pledged a total investment of US$12.7 billion in India by 2030 to meet the growing demand for cloud and AI services.
Between 2016 and 2022, AWS previously invested US$3.7 billion in Maharashtra.
