Apple plans $10m factory in Indonesia to lift iPhone ban
Apple is considering a US$10 million investment in Indonesia aimed at addressing a ban on selling its latest iPhone model in the country, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The proposal involves collaborating with suppliers to establish a factory in Bandung, the capital of West Java province.
This facility would produce accessories and components for Apple products, expanding local production capabilities.
Indonesia’s industry ministry received the proposal after denying a permit for the iPhone 16. Apple had not met the required 40% local content in its devices.
