Apple Inc. plans to introduce its in-house developed wireless chip, named Proxima, by 2025.

This chip will replace components from Broadcom Inc. and combine Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions.

It has been under development for several years and will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., according to informed sources.

The Proxima chip is expected to debut in smart home devices next year, including updated models of the Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini.

Integration into major products like iPhones is anticipated in late 2025, followed by other devices by 2026.
