Apple delays Siri AI personalization updates to 2026
Apple has delayed some AI features for Siri, originally set for 2025, now expected in 2026. These updates aim to improve Siri’s personalization and contextual awareness, enabling it to perform tasks across different apps.
Apple cited a longer-than-expected development process but did not provide specific reasons for the delay.
One key feature will allow Siri to access personal data stored on Apple devices, helping it offer recommendations like suggesting podcasts based on a friend’s input or retrieving flight details from conversations.
This delay comes as Apple continues to refine its cloud computing infrastructure while maintaining a focus on user privacy.
Siri handles 1.5 billion daily requests, competing with Google’s Assistant, which has integrated the Gemini model, and Amazon’s Alexa, which recently introduced new features.
Alexa’s upgrades are free for Prime subscribers or available for US$19.99 per month for others.
