Amazon tests AI tools for shopping, health assistance
Amazon is testing two generative AI tools, “Interests AI” and “Health AI,” available to a limited number of users through its app and website.
Interests AI helps users discover tailored product recommendations based on conversational inputs like “coffee brewing gadgets” or “latest pickleball accessories.” It operates separately from the main search bar with its own landing page.
Health AI focuses on health and wellness questions, offering care options and product recommendations.
Some responses carry a “clinically verified” badge, reviewed by US-based clinicians. The chatbot also connects users to Amazon’s pharmacy services and One Medical.
These AI tools align with Amazon’s strategy to expand generative AI across ecommerce, cloud, and healthcare.
CEO Andy Jassy revealed that the company has built around 1,000 generative AI applications. Amazon has not officially commented on these developments.
