A United States delegation attending a global AI summit in Paris on Feb. 10 and 11 will not include members from the AI Safety Institute, according to sources.
The institute, which operates under the Department of Commerce and focuses on managing AI-related risks, currently lacks a director.
Vice President JD Vance will lead the U.S. delegation, which is expected to include representatives from about 100 countries.
Key attendees from the US are Lynne Parker, Principal Deputy Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), and Sriram Krishnan, Senior Policy Advisor for AI at OSTP, as confirmed by an OSTP spokesperson.
