Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) has become the fifth non-fungible token (NFT) collection to cross the billion-dollar sales mark in the world, reported Forkast.
The other four players to achieve this milestone are Axie Infinity, CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Art Blocks.
MAYC is a collection of up to 20,000 NFT mutant apes that can only be created by exposing an existing Bored Ape to a vial of “mutant serum” or by minting a Mutant Ape for public sale, according to the MAYC website.
A report says the NFT market is expected to reach a market value of US$80 billion by 2025 from the current US$35 billion.
