mLab is the first Technology Incubator in Vietnam which started operating in 2012. They have organized and hosted many competitions nationally including: Nokia Asha Challenge, BlackBerry Jam Hackathon and the SEA-wide m2Work Hackathon. This time, mLab has started another competition — Mobile Innovation Challenge.
It aims to:
- Provide opportunities for mobile applications development community to realize their innovative ideas and approach investors.
- Encourage the development of mobile eco-system.
- Contribute to the growth of mobile applications sector in the future.
Team and developers can come from any Southeast Asian countries with two main requirements:
- The majority of the team are SEA nationals
- The application aims to solve a problem specific to the Southeast Asia region.
There are 5 main category to be eligible for the challenge:
- Business & Productivity
- Education
- Entertainment & Games
- Mobile commerce & Payment
- Social development and Public services
Prize:
- Grand prize: USD 4,800
- 5 top prizes of each category: USD 1,920
The competition will have 3 stages: Submission, Training and Coaching to Demo Day, lasting for 3 months. Deadline for submission round is 6th April, 2013.
