Singapore-based ‘LinkedIn for doctors’ nets $11m to grow network across Southeast Asia

Docquity, a Singapore-based healthtech startup, announced the closing of its US$11 million series B fundraising, led by Itochu Corporation Japan. Existing investors SPH Ventures and KDV Holdings, as well as Joe Hirao, CEO of ‘life media’ company Zigexn Japan, joined in the funding round.

Founded in 2015, Docquity offers a network of professional doctors in Southeast Asia on a single platform.  It currently hosts “over 80,000 verified doctors who have been verified via its partnership National Medical Associations across the region,” the startup said in a statement.

The company plans to launch Dx, a specialized clinical search engine for doctors that uses machine learning algorithms to categorize key discussion points. It plans to fully launch the platform mid-2020.

Docquity previously raised US$2 million in a series A funding round led by Genesia Ventures in July 2018.
