Microsoft venture fund M12 led the round, with Larsen Ventures – the firm of Peter Larsen, co-founder of Australian education provider Navitas – also coming on board as a new investor.
Existing backers Y Combinator and jobs site Seek also participated.
Brisbane-based GO1 is an online professional development platform for enterprises. Clients can use its marketplace to provide training for their employees, ranging from first aid courses to university-level qualifications. Employers can also use GO1 to onboard new recruits and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
The startup counts organizations including ANZ Bank, Delta Air Lines, Hasbro, NBC Universal, St John Ambulance, and Suzuki among its customers. It has 22 million users with current access to its platform, which includes more than 500,000 pieces of training content.
In a statement, GO1 indicated that its series B raise marks M12’s first Asia-Pacific investment. M12’s parent Microsoft has previously made investments in the region, including its participation in Grab’s ongoing series H round, which has raised around US$4.5 billion to date.
Microsoft acquired LinkedIn – perhaps the world’s foremost online provider of professional development content and opportunities – for US$26 billion in 2016.
GO1’s other investors include Black Sheep Capital, Our Innovation Fund, and Tank Stream Ventures.
