Greentech firm launches after $525k raise from SG’s Wavemaker
Wavemaker Impact, a Singapore-based climate tech venture builder, saw the first business launch out of its program with WasteX, a firm that enables agricultural producers in Southeast Asia to convert biomass waste into higher-value products.
Wavemaker has funneled an initial investment of US$525,000 into the venture, according to a statement.

WasteX aims to provide an end-to-end solution for agricultural producers, which involves tech selection, deployment, operational support, and carbon credit certification features. The solution will also help in facilitating the sale of these “higher-value” products, which include biochar and black soldier flies.
The startup has already piloted projects across Southeast Asia with integrated agricultural companies, independent mills, and livestock farms. Looking forward, WasteX plans to digitalize its solution and make new hires across its product, engineering, and business development teams.
Founded by Pawel Kuznicki, WasteX was born out of Wavemaker Impact’s four-month venture building process. The team explored ideas surrounding the largest contributors to greenhouse gases in Southeast Asia before deciding on biomass waste conversion.
The company says its products have a potential market of around US$150 billion in gross merchandise volume, with a potential to reduce up to 700 million metric tons in greenhouse gases.
