Merlini, legendary Dota player, comes out of retirement to join Team Zephyr in Korea
Ben “Merlini” Wu, a former professional Dota player widely known for his skill with Zeus, will temporarily join Team Zephyr of the Korean Dota League (KDL). He will be replacing Kevin “Purge” Godec, who will act as the team’s manager.
According to his announcement on YouTube, Merlini has stated that he will be “standing in for Team Zephyr for the entirety of the KDL Season 3”, which lasts from August 3 to October 5. Afterwards, he will return to Los Angeles and continue his job as a caster for Beyond The Summit.

Team Zephyr was formed in January of this year between four players from the United States and one from the Netherlands. Although the team initially dominated Korea’s Dota 2 scene, taking first place in both the Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3 and KDL Season 1, recent results have been less than spectacular. Now, Merlini has big shoes to fill if he wants to help the team get back on track.
How much will Merlini’s professional Dota experience help the fallen team? Will Team Zephyr make a comeback for KDL Season 3? Let us know in the comments!
