Malaysian healthtech firm secures $7m Pruksa-led round

Naluri, a digital health service provider, has raised US$7 million in a pre-series B funding round led by Thailand-based real estate developer Pruksa Group. The fundraise also saw participation from Bertelsmann Investments and M Venture Partners.

Founded in 2017 by Azran Osman-Rani and Jeremy Ting, Naluri aims to address the region’s shortages of registered professionals, which limits care delivery. It does so through its proprietary AI-augmented coaching platform and self-help digital tools to deliver personalized behavioral health programs at scale.

The Malaysian startup’s platform currently serves insurers, employers, and individuals by developing programs to manage chronic illness and improve general health levels. Its app can also use a client organization’s historical claims data with organization-wide health screenings to understand and forecast future healthcare demands and costs.

The funding will be used for strategic expansion into Thailand, where Pruksa Group has businesses in digital health technology and runs Vimut Hospitals. Naluri also aims to bolster operations in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

“Global markets have tightened, but this investment affirms Naluri’s mission and fast-tracks our efforts to deliver support to more deserving people in the region,” said Osman-Rani.

It previously raised US$1.1 million in a pre-series A round in April 2020, and another US$5 million in series A funding in June 2021.

Other investors in Naluri’s latest round include:

  • Striders Corporation
  • Palm Drive Capital
  • INP Capital
