Latest Guild Wars 2 update gives Lion’s Arch a reverse facelift and destroys it
You read that right, Guild Wars 2’s busiest city is now in ruins, thanks to the game’s latest update, Escape from Lion’s Arch, that went live yesterday on February 18, 2014. The update provides more content for players level 30 and up, and more dynamic events for those heading back into the now-besieged city of Lion’s Arch.
Escape from Lion’s Arch brings game changing elements into Tyria as players now need to focus on saving refugees from the onslaught of the game’s antagonist, Scarlet, and preventing her from getting a sturdier foothold in the city. Rewards for saving refugees are random equipment parts, loot or beneficial realm-wide buffs.
New achievements are also included in the update. They can be unlocked through the various dynamic events, escort missions and defending the rally points littered all over the city.
The update also unlocks new cosmetic armor skins called the Zodiac Armors and a new spinal blades item that can be equipped on your characters back. A new finisher is also included in the update, where a horde of Ascalonian ghosts will trample over your opponent’s body in World-vs-World combat.
