Lady Gaga Suspended From YouTube Thanks to Japan’s Media Interactive Inc

Lady Gaga is likely questioning her decision to post her recent video appearance on Japanese television on YouTube. Local media company Media Interactive Inc is the apparent party pooper to have submitted the copyright claim, which then resulted in the suspension of Lady Gaga’s Youtube channel today.

For Lady Gaga – or her representatives – to post the video (a medley of her own songs) she’d have to have a digital copy to begin with. Unfortunately for her, whoever gave it to her didn’t warn about usage rights at the time.

But seriously, it’s kind of crappy for her to get her channel nixed for posting her own performance. I mean, sure, Japanese supergroup SMAP are in the video too, but they are little more than sparkly furniture in the clip in question.

The ten-minute medley is still available via a number of mirror uploads on Youtube. We certainly hope no one else downloads them before they get reported. The one below is from user SMAPChannel, so we assume it must be legal.

Expect for this mess to get cleared up tout de suite when ‘Merica wakes up.
