SoftBank Investment Advisors director steps down

SoftBank Investment Advisors director Anna Lo has stepped down from her executive role, which she held since 2017. She had worked at SoftBank for 16 years, having also acted as director at SoftBank Group International.

“For now, I am taking a breather, spending time with family and friends, and preparing myself for new endeavors in 2023,” Lo announced in a LinkedIn post.

Throughout her time at the company, she co-founded and managed the Bodhi Fund, which was used to invest in early-stage companies in Southeast Asia, India, and China. More recently, she was stationed in Singapore to work on the SoftBank Vision Fund, a global investment arm primarily financing AI-focused private companies.

This comes after a turbulent time for the company. It was reported that the Vision Fund had lost US$50 billion in the first half of 2022 as its portfolio value dipped. The fund also laid off 30% of its headcount.
