Founded in August 2015, J&T Express is a courier service that helps online sellers and other individuals send packages. The firm was born in Indonesia but has since spread its coverage to seven other countries: China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Singapore.
According to a statement, the company’s plan to tap the Middle East market kicked off in April 2021. The firm also appointed Sean Xiao as head of J&T Express in the region.
“We hope that with J&T Express’ delivery network, we can improve the shopping experience of consumers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and contribute to the development of the ecommerce industry in both countries,” Xiao said.
Last November, it was reported that J&T Express secured US$2.5 billion in funding at a valuation of US$20 billion ahead of its plan to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange this year.
