Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build and maintain backend systems for our AI Digital Human and Conversational AI applications, powered by LLMs and voice technologies.

 
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js with Express or NestJS.
• Design and integrate secure RESTful APIs.
• Manage and optimize MySQL databases.
• Integrate OpenAI or other LLM APIs for conversational AI applications.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases, and knowledge bases.
• Integrate Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) services.
• Improve backend performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Work closely with AI and product teams on conversational workflows and integrations.

 
Required Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with Node.js.
• Experience with Express.js or NestJS.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and services.
• Experience with OpenAI APIs or similar LLM platforms.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and knowledge-base systems.
• Familiarity with STT, TTS, or voice AI technologies.
• Good understanding of Git and software development best practices.

 
Good to Have

• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, or basic DevOps.
• Experience with WebSockets or real-time applications.
• Experience with Redis, message queues, or similar backend technologies.
• Previous experience building Chatbots, Voicebots, AI Agents, or Digital Human applications.
