About Duellix
We're a small startup and the corporate services provider that founders and SMEs actually like. We're growing fast, with over 200 clients and counting. We handle the full back office for Singapore companies (accounting, tax, payroll, company secretarial, immigration and more) so our clients can focus on building their business.
The service list isn't what sets us apart. It's how we work. We don't do jargon, hidden fees or silos, and there's a real human who knows our clients’ business on the other end of every message. Clients describe us as "a safe pair of hands" and "a partner who speaks my language". We intend to keep it that way.
The role
This is a senior role with three hats: you'll be the most senior accounting and tax person in the company, a trusted advisor to our biggest clients, and our internal CFO. You're deeply technical but you don't hide behind it. You can prepare a tax computation and then explain it to a first-time founder in plain English.
1. Head our accounting function
You own accounting at Duellix. That means being the go-to expert on everything Singapore: corporate tax and IRAS filings (ECI, Form C-S/C), GST, withholding tax, DTAs, payroll and CPF, Corppass, unaudited financial statements, XBRL. The lot. You'll lead our accounting team of seven, based in the Philippines, while you sit in Singapore. You set the standards and make sure the team delivers work we'd put our name on. When a tricky technical question lands, it lands with you. And because we're building out our internal tech stack, you'll have a real say in which parts of the work we automate next.
2. Look after our key clients
For our largest clients, you're more than an accountant. You're their account manager and advisor: you get to know their business, review their finance processes, propose better ways of doing things, and see the changes through. Over time we want to give clients more than filings, things like analytics, financial insight and fractional CFO support. You'd be the one leading that.
3. Act as our internal CFO
You keep us honest, too. You own our internal numbers, challenge the founders on the budget (genuinely, we want pushback rather than sign-off), and present a monthly report to the whole team at our town hall. If something in our own finances doesn't add up, you're the one who says so.
What you'll bring
- CA or CPA Qualification
- Deep Singapore accounting and tax expertise. You've prepared and reviewed the full compliance cycle for SME clients many times over
- Confident across corporate tax, GST, payroll/CPF, DTAs and the practicalities of dealing with IRAS and ACRA
- Experience leading or mentoring an accounting team, ideally in a corporate services or SME-focused firm. Remote team experience is a plus, since ours sits in the Philippines
- A genuine advisory instinct: you spot problems in a client's processes before they do, and you enjoy fixing them
- The Duellix communication style, which is clear, direct and warm. Clients should finish every interaction with you knowing what's happening and what's next
- Comfortable challenging founders and being challenged back
- Bonus points if you're into process automation. We're steadily automating the repetitive parts of our work, so if you like experimenting with AI tools, or even vibecoding your own little solutions, you'll fit right in
Where this can go
We'd love this role to grow. If you have the appetite, there's a path to also leading our customer success function, heading up the account managers and owning the client experience from start to finish. Not a requirement on day one, but tell us if that excites you.
