The integration will allow Rakuten users to access Uber Eats’ services with their Rakuten IDs. They will also be able to earn and spend points from Rakuten’s loyalty program when ordering food and groceries through the Uber Eats app, according to a statement from Uber.

The Rakuten Points support on Uber Eats will be rolled out in stages to all users in Japan by late April, with the collaboration expanding to cover trips made on Uber’s mobility app later this year. Rakuten currently has more than 100 million users in the country.

Uber Eats users will also have additional benefits on Rakuten’s online marketplace, Rakuten Ichiba.
