Granite Asia backs Indonesian logistics SaaS firm’s series A round

Third-party logistics players across Southeast Asia are grappling with a price war and slowing growth. That doesn’t seem to apply to Indonesia’s McEasy, however.

To be fair, the company does operate on a different model than firms like Ninja Van or J&T Express: it is an IoT and SaaS firm providing solutions to logistics players. Still, McEasy said that its client and partner base has grown 6x over the past 18 months to 1,500 companies, which include names like Waresix, Telkom Indonesia, and Pertamina.

Now, McEasy has extended its series A round to US$11 million following an injection by Granite Asia, previously known as GGV Capital. The startup had first raised series A funding in 2022, where East Ventures led a US$6.5 million injection.

Founded by Hendrik Ekowaluyo and Raymond Sutjiono in 2017, McEasy aims to change the Indonesian logistics sector’s reliance on paper and pen. The company noted that around 85% of operators still use this old-fashioned method, resulting in disjointed services, unprofessional driver conduct, and low customer satisfaction.

Its logistics management system comprises a real-time vehicle tracking software, a transportation management system, and a fleet management app, among other features.

“We intend to use the funds to accelerate the development of new IoT solutions, enable world-class artificial intelligence, and drive customer-first supply chain ecosystem products,” said Ekowaluyo in a statement.
