Invictus Gaming's LoL team on verge of breakup heading into IEM tournament (VIDEO)
It ought to be a time of excitement for Chinese professional League of Legends teams WE and Invictus Gaming (iG), as both are headed to Poland for this weekend’s Intel Extreme Masters tournament. There, they will compete with some of the best teams from around the world. But expectations for iG’s performance in the tournament are way down, and so is the team’s morale.
Invictus Gaming is coming off of a horrible run of form in China’s LPL that has left them ranked seventh out of eight teams in the league. Fans are understandably concerned, and the team itself is openly discussing disbanding, as is revealed in this clip of an internal team discussion from a Chinese League of Legends program on Gamefly.cn.
We’ve added some quick English subtitles to the part that actually shows iG top laner PDD and ADC Kid discussing their recent results; be sure you enable English captions if you want to read the subtitles.
Yikes! It’s hard to imagine that in this mindset, the team has much chance of doing well at Intel Extreme Masters. Probably, China’s IEM LoL hopes now sit squarely on the shoulders of Team WE.
