Grab users in Indonesia are set to enjoy an additional feature on its app: banking.
Superbank, the Indonesian digital bank backed by Grab and Singtel, now offers its banking services directly on the Indonesian version of Grabโs app. In other words, Grab users can access Superbankโs offerings โ including opening bank accounts, depositing funds, and making digital payments โ directly on the Grab app without having to download Superbankโs separate app.
Superbank is now available as a payment method across Grabโs array of services as well. It is also gradually offering a quick loan service โ users can apply for the loan within minutes, with flexible credit limits and terms.
Customers who use Superbank on the Grab app can earn 6% annual interest on their savings, in addition to receiving discounts and other promotions.
The integration marks a recent push on Superbankโs consumer side. The digital bank previously said that those who use its auto-savings feature can get 10% interest per annum.
Previously, it had announced partnerships with the likes of Genesis and online lender Amartha to offer business financing for startups and womenpreneurs, respectively.
Superbank was previously known as Bank Fama before a rebrand in early 2023. Indonesian conglomerate Emtek Group had acquired the bank in 2021, before Grab and Singtel bought minority shares in a US$70 million deal.
