Betterhalf, a marriage app for urban Indians, has raised US$8.5 million in a series A round from FinSight Ventures. Other investors include Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger and Dropbox co-founder Arash Ferdowsi.

Founded in 2019 by Rahul Namdev and Pawan Gupta, Betterhalf offers online matchmaking, tech-enabled wedding planning, and astrology services.

The India-based company has seen a 2x jump in annual revenue in the last six months. It has more than 1 million monthly active users, fueled by a 3x surge in its overall user base since June last year.

With the new funding, Betterhalf aims to continue its growth momentum and focus on becoming the “super app of matrimony and wedding services.”
